Collegues,

As shared previously our campus is required to come into compliance with
the new SUNY Print Initative
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/academics/resources/technology/policies/suny-managed-print.html>.
Starting tomorrow, June 28th, 2023, we will begin the next phase of the
implementation. During this time, our new vendor, Toshiba, will be
installing new copier devices in several locations. The new device installs
will happen in two phases, the first being June 28th-29th, and the second
phase will be at a later time during the summer.

Due the large number of installs happening over the next 2 days, only quick
training will be provided. We plan on providing a "fast start" guide, but
the changes seen from an end user perspective should be minimal.

*Whats staying the same?*

   - Papercut will remain on the new devices, login with your existing pin
(or campus credentials) to release your print jobs or use the copier
   function
   - Scanning profiles should remain for those that have the ability to
   scan to Imagenow
   - Existing copier locations (but with new devices)

*Whats changing? - first bullet point is Important!*

   - *How to print to the new devices* - three new queues will be created
and pushed out to campus computers. These queues are to be used to print to
   the new devices.
      - SUNY Print B&W - use for most jobs, duplexing and stapling allowed
      - SUNY Print B&W - advanced - (use for booklet or hole punch etc)
      - SUNY Print Color - all color jobs
   - Look of device
   - Location of buttons
   - Papertrays

Although we expect the transition to be seamless, our staff will be
assisting Toshiba and answering any questions you may have regarding the
new devices. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns
please contact the helpdesk (helpdesk at plattsburgh.edu or x4433) or reach
out the ITS project lead Casey Casamento <casamecj at plattsburgh.edu>.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this phase of the project.
