Dear Cardinal Community,

We want to acknowledge that our dining services have not been meeting
expectations. We hear you and we agree. We apologize that we’ve let you
down. Dining is an integral part of your campus experience and we are
actively working around the clock to address the challenges we have been
facing. We are committed to making significant improvements and rebuilding
your trust in us.

To address our shared concerns, here are the immediate steps we are taking:

   1. *Staffing and Culinary Support: *We experienced unprecedented
staffing shortages, so we have activated corporate support to bring
additional team members and culinary experts from across our region to
strengthen our operations, lead training and provide immediate support.
      1. *Hiring New Associates:* We have initiated a hiring process to
fill our open positions, aiming to strengthen our team and
improve service.
      2. *Manager Availability:* Our managers will be present during all
hours of operation to listen to your concerns, answer questions, and
      provide additional assistance.
   2. *Dine with the Director:* Beginning this *Friday, September 13th at
10:30-11:30 a.m. in Clinton Dining Hall*, we invite campus community
members to meet with our Chartwells Leadership team to share your
experiences and ideas. These meetings will continue on a monthly basis.
   3. *Technology Issues:* Some students have experienced problems
accessing their meal plans through their ID cards. Our point-of-sale system
team is working tirelessly to address these back-end issues. Please be
assured that the problem is not with your ID card.
      1. The point-of-sale system at Kent, Halal Shack, and the Cardinal
Market & Starbucks Cafe have all been remedied and are now
working properly.
      2. Any other issues are expected to be fixed today. If you experience
any problems, at any point, accessing your plan, please visit the CAS
office or email plattsburghcas at plattsburgh.edu for assistance.
   4. *Order through the Ghost Kitchen: *Our new Ghost Kitchen is now
available on Boost! Our innovative menu offers rotating, bowl-style
offerings that are Avoiding Gluten, in a build-your-own model for pick-up
   at The Market.
   5. *Customer Appreciation Events:* As we work to rebuild your trust, we
will be hosting appreciation events beginning next week with special menus
and giveaways. Follow us on Instagram, @plattsburghcas, or check the Digest
   for more information.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to make these
improvements. And we look forward to better serving you, while creating a
positive dining experience for the entire Cardinal Community.

On behalf of CAS & Chartwells,
CATHERINE KELEHER
