[Important Information for Employees] Invitation to the National Day of Racial Healing: 1/20/2026

Dear Campus Community,

The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion invites all members of our
campus community to participate in the 2026 National Day of Racial Healing
<http://dayofracialhealing.org/>, which takes place on Tuesday, January 20,
2026 from 9 am to 4:00 pm.


As we embrace this new year of 2026 and approach the Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. holiday, let us remember all that Dr. King represented.
Admittedly, we are in difficult, disappointing and perilous times in the
area of racial justice. However, Dr. King once said, “ We must accept
finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope."  It is important that
we never lose infinite hope.


SUNY Plattsburgh will be hosting a variety of conference-style
programs for *The
National Day of Racial Healing *to inspire infinite hope, including
healing circles and other events from 10 am to 3 pm in the Angell College
Center (ACC). Some events will also be available via Zoom.  Between 9 and
10am you will have the opportunity to show your support for the day and
enjoy some light refreshments.


Infinite hope is the vehicle that we must utilize to achieve the ultimate
goal of racial healing. The National Day of Racial Healing is designed to
inspire the participants to develop and sustain hope in the midst of the
challenges that we face as a society.

graphic enclosed for anyone that would like to add visual support for the
National Day of Racial Healing, temporarily, to your email signature line.
If participating (which is by choice and not mandatory), we ask that you
add the graphic
