[Important Information for Employees] Important Notice: Temporary Heating Shutdown for Repairs - Update #1

Dear Campus Community,

We want to inform you of an upcoming maintenance procedure that may impact
heating in several campus buildings. This morning, we were alerted to a
potential high-temperature hot water (HTHW) leak near the Angell College
Center, identified by the central heating plant staff. As a precaution, we
plan to shut down the heating zone for investigation and repairs.

Shutdown Details:

   -

   Date of Shutdown: Tomorrow, Oct. 29, in preparation for work scheduled
   from tomorrow through Thursday
   -

   Expected Restoration: Thursday into Friday, before colder weather returns
   -

   Temperature Forecast During Repairs: Highs in the 70s, lows in the 50s

During this period, domestic hot water will remain available in all
affected Residence Halls.

Buildings Directly Impacted:

   -

   Whiteface, CV Hall, Angell, Myers, Macdonough, Harrington, Memorial,
   Saranac, Health/UP, Macomb, Kent, Mason

Potential Additional Impacted Buildings (if isolation is unsuccessful):

   -

   Sibley, Moffitt, Wilson, Clinton, DeFredenburgh, Hood

We are working with the SUNY Construction Fund to bring a contractor on
site promptly to ensure efficient repairs.
