Campus Community,

The Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) is responsible for maintaining
the official alumni database for SUNY Plattsburgh.

Faculty and staff may request alumni contact information for the purpose of
conducting *college-related business online here*
<https://alumni.plattsburgh.edu/s/1603/bp19/interior.aspx?sid=1603&gid=1&pgid=901&cid=1707>.
To ensure the alumni database remains accurate, faculty and staff can
forward information (current employment, email addresses, updated contact
info, etc.) *about alumni to IA online here*
<https://alumni.plattsburgh.edu/s/1603/bp19/home.aspx?sid=1603&gid=1&pgid=919&cid=1727>
.

IA also coordinates all fundraising activities on behalf of SUNY
Plattsburgh. All charitable gifts from any individual or organization,
including gifts by check or credit card received through the mail or
online, gifts of stocks or other securities, planned gifts, and gifts to
endowments and other special projects are secured by IA or under the
guidance of IA. All such gifts are received, acknowledged, and
administered by the Plattsburgh College Foundation. IA is also responsible
for coordinating the naming of all spaces on campus, sponsorship gifts and
sponsor recognition, and college logo placement.

Gifts-in-kind for the benefit of the college (including gifts of services,
equipment, and other personal property) are subject to the college’s
*Acceptance
of Gifts in Kind Policy*
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/about/offices-divisions/administration-finance/management-services/campus-handbook/section-vi-finance-budget/acceptance-of-gifts-in-kind-policy.html>.
While IA assists in the coordination of these gifts, all such gifts must be
reviewed and approved by the Vice President for Administration and Finance.

Special fundraising projects, such as raffles, golf tournaments,
walk-a-thons, auctions, benefit events, and other activities, require the
approval of Institutional Advancement. However, projects of this nature do
not usually require the direct involvement of IA staff.

Thank you for your assistance as we work together to sustain lifelong
relationships with our alumni and to increase charitable gifts for SUNY
Plattsburgh and our students.

Office of the President
