Dear Campus Community,

We are writing with this week's update on COVID-19 cases and related
information. Updates may also be provided as needed other days of the week.

Over the past 14 days, the campus has recorded five positive student cases.
No students or employees are in quarantine. One employee is also reported
to be in isolation. If you are aware of individuals affected, please
respect their privacy.

Details on campus testing and cases are available on the SUNY dashboard,
online at https://www.suny.edu/covid19-tracker/.

*Masking Requirement Update*
As indicated in this morning's email from Campus Housing and Community
Living, fully vaccinated students do not need to wear masks while in their
residence hall unless attending programs or other large gatherings such as
floor meetings.

Unvaccinated students, those with exemptions and those in the process
of becoming fully vaccinated must still wear their masks at all times,
including while in residence halls. unless they are in their own
private room or suite.

All students must continue to wear their masks in all other campus
buildings outside of the residence hall, regardless of vaccination status.

This decision is subject to change if the Campus begins to see an uptick in
cases, at which point we may reinstate the mask mandate for all students in
residence halls, regardless of vaccination status.

*Surveillance Testing and Contact Tracing*

Surveillance testing will continue weekly for unvaccinated or partially
vaccinated individuals who come to campus for any reason (e.g. in-person
classes, living in the residence halls, student organization meetings,
etc.) including students who have an exemption, and for employees who have
not submitted a Vaccination Attestation Form.

The Clinton County Health Department conducts contact tracing and
determines who needs to be quarantined based on their level of contact.
Individuals who are fully vaccinated do not have to quarantine unless they
develop symptoms. Vaccinated students can attend pool testing three to five
days after exposure.

We encourage you to take steps daily to ensure the safety for you and all
around you. Wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands, avoid
large social gatherings, and stay home when sick. More information is
online at plattsburgh.edu/COVID-19.
