Dear Campus Community,
The college recorded two new cases of students testing positive for COVID-19
on Thursday.
Over the past 14 days, 29 cases have been recorded within the campus
community. Additionally, two students are in precautionary isolation having
tested negative with a rapid test but awaiting back-up PCR test results.
By direction of the county health department, 89 students (50 on-campus and
39 off-campus) and five employees are in mandatory or precautionary
quarantine. Those in isolation and quarantine are being released as they
recover and risk times expire.
We respect the privacy of students in isolation and quarantine and will
support them. If you are aware, please also respect their
privacy. Decisions by the health department for quarantine are based on an
assessment of potential exposure to help prevent possible viral spread.
This week, 1,416 samples were taken through pooled surveillance testing. We
will share results from SUNY Upstate Medical University when available. The
testing will continue next week. The following week, November 11-13, we
will be conducting mandatory testing of all students. Details will be
shared soon.
As we see cases increase, please continue our focus on prevention and our
care for each other's health and safety. This includes:
- Complete the daily health screening

form.
- Follow the Cardinal Pledge, including face coverings, distancing and
avoiding large social gatherings.
- Stay local and avoid travel outside the area for the duration of the
semester.
- Download *the New York State COVID-19 alert app*
