Dear Campus Community,
One student was reported today as testing positive for COVID-19. The
student is isolating and following health and safety directions.
Over the past 12 days, the college community has recorded 30 total cases.
Additionally, three students are in precautionary isolation having tested
negative with rapid tests but awaiting back-up PCR test results.
Through contact tracing by the county health department, 157 students are
in quarantine (79 on-campus and 78 off-campus). Quarantine decisions by the
health department via tracing are based on an assessment of potential
exposure and to help prevent possible viral spread.
People are leaving isolation and quarantine as they recover or risk times
expire. Details on isolation, quarantine and related topics are online
at *plattsburgh.edu/covid-19

*Prevention and Testing*We respect the privacy of students in isolation and
quarantine and will support them. If you are aware, please also respect
their privacy.
A focus on prevention and the Cardinal Pledge, coupled with robust testing,
isolation and quarantine as warranted, are our keys to flattening the case
count. It takes all of us to succeed.
Pooled surveillance test sample results from this week's two rounds will be
shared when they are returned. Testing continues next week. Please attend
if invited.
As I shared yesterday, we monitor our campus cases and capacity every day.
We are also working in concert with multiple public health officials and
partners who are supportive of our approaches.
Dr. Alexander Enyedi
President
