Dear Campus Community,

The college recorded one new COVID-19 case on Wednesday. The student was
among those retested from an earlier pooled test where results were
indeterminate. The person was in precautionary quarantine and is now
isolating. The balance of students from that pool are no longer in
quarantine.

Over the past 14 days, 29 cases have been recorded within the campus
community. Additionally, one student is in precautionary isolation having
tested negative with a rapid test but awaiting back-up PCR test results.

By direction of the county health department, 99 students (54 on-campus and
45 off-campus) and four employees are in mandatory or precautionary
quarantine. Those in isolation and quarantine are being released as they
recover and risk times expire.

Decisions by the health department for quarantine are based on an
assessment of potential exposure to help prevent possible viral spread. We
respect the privacy of students in isolation and quarantine and will
support them. If you are aware, please also respect their privacy.

As we see cases increase in the region and nationally, it is important to
continue our focus on prevention and our care to health and safety over the
last few weeks on campus. This includes:

   - Complete the daily health screening

    form.
   - Follow the Cardinal Pledge, including face coverings, distancing and
   avoiding large social gatherings.
   - Stay local and avoid travel outside the area for the duration of the
   semester.
   - Download *the New York State COVID-19 alert app*
   <https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-alert-ny>.

Pooled surveillance testing was conducted today with 1,008 samples taken
and sent to SUNY Upstate Medical University. The testing will continue
tomorrow and next week. Also, we will be conducting mandatory testing of
all students November 11-13. Details on that testing will be shared soon.
