Dear Campus Community,

Two students were reported today as testing positive for COVID-19. The
students are now isolating and following health and safety directions.
Additionally, one college employee was reported as positive. This employee
has not been on campus for a week and all contact tracing has been
completed.

Over the past 10 days, the college has recorded 25 total cases.
Additionally, five students are in precautionary isolation having tested
negative with rapid tests but awaiting back-up PCR test results.

Through contact tracing by the county health department, 114 students are
in quarantine (77 on-campus and 37 off-campus).

*Isolation and Quarantine*
Decisions on quarantine are made by the health department through the
process of contact tracing and are based on an assessment of potential
exposure. This is done to help prevent possible spread of the virus.

Expansive information on positive tests notifications, isolation and
quarantine processes and related areas are online at *plattsburgh.edu/covid-19

the top of the page. This also includes *information on contact tracing
from New York State*

.

Faculty and staff are also supporting students as quarantine buddies,
checking in, providing a connection and meeting needs they may have. If you
would like to assist in this way, please contact Dr. Michele Carpentier at
*carpenmm at plattsburgh.edu* <carpenmm at plattsburgh.edu>.

In this final on-campus month, continued attention to detail by each one of
you is critical. The simple steps of the Cardinal Pledge and regular
participation in surveillance testing are our keys to success and keeping
you and those around you healthy and safe.

*Pooled Surveillance Testing*Pooled surveillance testing continued today,
with 1,496 samples taken over the past two days. These have been sent to
SUNY Upstate Medical University. We will share those results when they are
in.

We continue to monitor cases and campus capacity every day. As we do, we
respect the privacy of these students and will support them. If you are
aware, please also respect their privacy.

Dr. Alexander Enyedi
President
