[Teaching-Faculty] Introducing a new feature in Cardinal Star: Academic Advising Office Referral

Advisors and Instructors,

In most instances, if a student is performing poorly in one or more
courses, or expresses challenges that are not grade-related, you are able
to address it, coach them through it, or refer them to specific resources.
The Attendance Concern and Academic Concern flags are often used for these
types of issues.

In some cases, however, a student’s difficulties are unusually high, seem
to pervade their academic experience, or are complex in nature. Despite
your best efforts to get to the root of the matter, if you believe the
student would benefit from additional and holistic support, please use the
Academic Advising Office Referral in Cardinal Star.

Select the student, click the Referral button and select the appropriate
referral. When a student is referred in this manner, the Academic Advising
Office will reach out to the student to follow up and provide assistance.
