Changes to the ACC

Welcome to the new academic year!

As we begin the 2026-27academic year we wanted to make you aware of some
changes in the operations of the Angell College Center. Please read this
email carefully and save for future reference.

Here are the key changes:


   1.

   Information Desk is now  the ACC Event Services Desk

The Information Desk has been renamed the ACC Event Services Desk and has
been relocated to the second floor of the ACC, inside the Flynt Commons.
This change was done to help improve event-related services in the ACC.
With most events on the second floor this will help create faster access
for assistance with room reservations and technology needs. We have also
merged the Events Management Office with the functions of the ACC Event
Services Desk, allowing for more streamlined access to the resources
offered by Events Management. With this change we will be renaming the
Events Management Office to Event Tech Services.

   2.

   Staffing and Hours

 ACC Event Services Desk will have the following Hours of Operations:

   1.

   Monday through Friday
   1.

       8am-4pm:  Doors to the meeting rooms and event spaces will remain
      unlocked during this time. Patrons of these spaces will still need to
      reserve the space, but key pickup will not be necessary. During these
      hours, a professional staff member will be available to assist with any
      technical issues by either stopping by the ACC Event Services Desk or by
      calling 518 564 4845.
      2.

      4pm-11pm: Trained student staff will help with technical issues and
      access to event spaces. At 4pm, doors will lock to these spaces, and keys
      will need to be retrieved from the ACC Event Services Desk.
      2.

   Weekends: 1pm-11pm: Trained student staff will help with technical
   issues and access to event spaces.
   3.

   Holidays: The ACC Event Service Desk will be closed.
   4.

   During College Recesses (Spring, Fall, Winter and Summer Breaks), the
   ACC will only be open on weekdays from 8am-4pm.
   5.

   Please note that room reservations will not be given outside of the ACC
   Event Services Desk hours. Unless a rare exception is given by the Director
   of the College Center. However, the *ACC building will remain open for
   access to food services and open areas like Burghy’s and the Flynt
   Commons. *


   3.

   Ticketing:  All event ticketing is handled through Cardinal Link.  If
   you need assistance with this please contact Storm Brewer at
   sbrew004 at plattsburgh.edu.
   4.

    New and Continuing Services- The ACC Event Services Desk will continue
   to offer certain services and some new ones.
   1.

      Continuing Services- Key retrieval and return, lost and found drop
      off,  ACC Technology Support, and flyer approval.
      2.

      New Services- Cardinal Link troubleshooting and questions, pool cue
      repair, donation drop off for the Campus Thrift Stop, and Event Tech
      Services (formerly Events Management) consultations.
      5.

   Event Tech Services (formerly Events Management)- Event Tech Services
   has a number of services it can offer to help improve your events and
   meetings. Some items come with a cost and others are free. Please check out

   eventtechservices at plattsburgh.edu ). You can also stop by our new
   location in Flynt Commons as well.
   6.

   Flynt Commons- We are continuously trying to find new ways to help
   improve resources that are available in the Flynt Commons. This summer we
   have added two whiteboards and soon we will be adding a projector and a new
   screen. The new projector in the Flynt Commons will be casting specific
   through the use of USB-C toggle. Once installed, access to this device can
   be done through the ACC Event Services Desk.
   7.

   Digital Signage- As you walk around the ACC you can now see that we have
   increased the digital signage. If you’re looking to utilize those signs

Reminders:

   1.

   Reserving Cardinal, Ballrooms, Alumni, ACC Courtyard and Amitie Plaza-
   When reserving these areas please be reminded to fill out a Moving/Set Up
   Request through our READY Workorder system. If a moving/set up request is
   not made at least two weeks or more in advance, your desired setup will not
   be possible.
   2.

   Tech Support in the ACC- We ask that patrons of the ACC go to ACC Events
   Services Desk first or call the helpline available in the rooms for
   assistance. Many issues with the technology can be resolved quickly through
   our staff.  If larger issues persist, ACC staff will work with ITS to
   correct those issues.
