SUNY Plattsburgh policy owners Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Title IX
have revised the Notice of Non-Discrimination Policy to improve our
practices associated with compliance with laws regarding protected classes
under Title VI of the Civil Rights Law of 1964, Title VII of the Civil
Rights Law of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
Units affected include all students, employees, faculty emeriti, volunteers
and visitors of the University, University-affiliated organizations,
contractors/consultants, and/or vendors provided access to the campus.
SUNY Plattsburgh provides equal opportunity in education and employment for
all qualified persons; and prohibits illegal discrimination based on age,
race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender
identity, familial status, pregnancy, predisposing genetic characteristics,
military status, domestic violence victim status, disability, criminal
conviction, or other protected categories; to promote the full realization
of equal education and employment opportunity. SUNY Plattsburgh does not
discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any
Education Program or Activity that it operates, as required by Title IX and
its regulations, including in admission and employment.
The Non-Discrimination Policy provides guidance and information on policies
and procedures, and a mechanism to explain how SUNY Plattsburgh defines,
responds to, and resolves incidents of discrimination and/or harassment.
