*Notice to Teaching Faculty and Staff:*
Final grades for Spring 2021 are due *Wednesday, May 19 at noon. * Access
to final grade submission is available on the *MyPlattsburgh* portal now
through* noon *on May 19. It is critical that grades be entered on time to
allow students to select the option for Pass/Fail grades. They will have
24 hours after the noon deadline on May 19 to make their selection. If
grades are submitted late, they will not get the full 24 hour window to
make their selection.
*Unless you made an arrangement with the student during the first two weeks
of the semester to allow a Pass/Fail grade (which is rare) or the course
was already set up with a P/F grade mode (like student teaching), you
should enter the final grade as a standard letter grade for all courses.
If a student earns a C, you should enter C. The student has the option,
through their student portal, to select a Pass/Fail grade for each of their
courses for up to 24 hours after the grade submission deadline (Wednesday,
May 19 at noon). If the student selects P/F, the system will automatically
convert the letter grade submitted by the faculty to a P or E. There is no
need for the instructor to know what the student's choice was at the time
of recording the grade. For further clarification on the P/F grade policy
for this semester, please visit the
website https://www.plattsburgh.edu/about/offices-divisions/academic-affairs/provost/resources.html

(Grading
Policy Changes for Spring 2021). If a student stopped attending the
course, please submit a final grade of "E". Please do not give an
"I"--Incomplete grade unless you have made arrangements directly with the
student to complete the class.*
Additionally, it will be important to have your grades submitted on time
because *Moodle will be offline* for maintenance between 8 am on Thursday,
May 20th and 9 am on Friday, May 21st so you will be unable to access your
grades in Moodle.
Instructions for recording final grades are as follows:
1. Login to the MyPlattsburgh portal.
2. Click on the Faculty Service tab.
3. Click on the Final Grade roster for each CRN.
4. Enter and submit grades.
When entering an incomplete “I” grade for a student, an Incomplete Final
Grades “E” grade pop-up block appears. This pop-up block is simply
notification that the “I” grade will convert to an “E” grade if not
completed by the conclusion of Fall 2021 semester*. Hit the Submit
button. Failure to do so will result in no grade submission for this
student.*
Faculty Senate Action #647 states, “Faculty will assign a final grade of
“E” to any student who never attended class but appears on the class
roster.”
If a student attending your course is not on the class roster, the grade
must be submitted on the *Grade Irregularity Form*.
*Please verify all final grades have been submitted prior to exiting the
roster. *
*It is vital for all grades to be submitted on time to allow for proper
end-of-term processing*. If grades are not submitted on time, problems
will occur with graduation review, fall registration, financial aid
eligibility review, and course schedule adjustment. Your assistance is
greatly appreciated.
