Dear Colleagues,
Please see the following key information for the Kehoe Building exterior
masonry project.
First, the contractor will be proceeding with window protection the week of
August 16th. This will consist of wood framing being installed to the
structure around the windows on the west (facing Beaumont) and north
(facing Broad St.) sides of the building. Second, on August 30th, a
plywood covering will be fastened to the framing over the windows on the
upper three floors to provide protection during the shotcrete application
process. Then, there will also be pressure washing, isolated repairs of
masonry at small areas, drilling for anchors and installation of
reinforcing mesh in preparation for the shotcrete application. Also, during
this time, contractors will be constructing overhead entrance protection
over the first floor doors facing Broad St. Finally, the shotcrete
application and window protection removal process will follow as the
contractors complete each level moving downward a level each time - a level
consists of 3 floors on each side.
We anticipate the application of the shotcrete to begin on or around
September 6th. A level will take approximately 3 weeks to complete.
In the spring, there will be a need to remove the screens for the final
finish caulking around a new metal exterior window trim piece being
installed on the sides of the windows. Further details on when and how the
screens will be removed will be shared ahead of the project.
We will continue to update you on the progress of the project. We
appreciate your patience as Kehoe undergoes these critical improvements.
