Greetings!
We hope the fall 2020 semester is off to a great start for each of you.
The Center for the Study of Canada invites you to attend a
Professional Research and Development Presentation via Zoom on Wednesday,
September 16, 2020 at 12 Noon. This event will feature a talk by Dr.
Joseph-André Senécal, 2020-21 Center Scholar-in-Residence, titled, “La Foi,
la liberté/Faith and Liberty: Franco-American New Yorkers of
French-Canadian Descent and Their Ethnic Identity in the context of Canada
and the Franco-Américanie of New England”. Joseph-André Senécal is
Professor Emeritus at the University of Vermont where he taught courses on
French language and culture and Quebec literature and culture. Dr. Senécal
is known primarily for his bibliographic work on Canada and his writings on
Franco-Americans in New England and New York. He is presently completing
“Moi, Adrien,” a book-length biography of one of the rare immigrants to
New France who did the crossing with his wife and family.
