The *“Performance Reviews of Academic Employees: Policies and Procedures,
an Agreement between State University of New York College of Arts and
Science at Plattsburgh and United University Professions” *originated on
October 25, 1995.  This Agreement details a constructive and formative
process, which both management and UUP take great pride in.  It serves as a
model of best practice among SUNY institutions. After 25 years, the
performance review system continues to work well, achieving high degrees of
fairness and genuine collegiality. Peer Review Groups with at least one
assigned external reviewer are a critical component of the Academic Review
Process.  Faculty participation is vital to the process and more
importantly to the success of our colleagues.



It is the responsibility of my office to solicit nominations and conduct
elections annually for the External Review Panel (ERP) and Promotion Review
Board (PRB).  On behalf of myself, President Enyedi, Kim Hartshorn and Dan
Gordon, I urge you to step up and serve in these critically important roles
if you are an eligible academic employee holding continuing appointment and
rank.



The *External Review Panel* provides external reviewers to serve on
departmental Peer Review Groups.  *All academic employees holding
continuing appointments at the rank of Associate Professor, Associate
Librarian or higher are eligible for election*.



The *Promotion Review Board* is the college-wide peer review body for
promotion to Professor, Librarian, and Distinguished Professor/Librarian
ranks.  *All who serve on this board must hold continuing appointment at
the rank of Professor, Librarian or higher*.



Please note that chairpersons, center directors, and program supervisors
*cannot* serve on the above committees.



*Please return nomination forms to the Office of the Provost and Vice
President for Academic Affairs no later than Friday, October 30, 2020.  You
may nominate more than one person for each committee.*
