[Important Information for Students] Reminder:SUNY Plattsburgh's Scheduled Emergency Notification TEST

Campus Community,

This is just a reminder that SUNY Plattsburgh will be conducting a
campus-wide test of its Emergency Notification Systems today, *Wednesday,
April 14, 2021, between 11 am and 1 pm. *

The test will utilize several means of notification, including SUNY NY
Alert, campus email, a desktop notification (to campus-owned computers) and
the campus outdoor warning sirens.

*No action on your part is necessary for the test.*


Things to know...

*Outdoor Warning Sirens*
Sirens are designed to only be heard outdoors. Upon activation, a tone will
sound from the speakers signaling an emergency. When heard, the campus
community should take the following actions:

· S – STOP: Stop what you are doing.
· O – OBSERVE: Observe your immediate surroundings for danger.
· S – SHELTER: Shelter in place and seek additional information from SUNY
NY Alert (text, email, cell phone, and landline), campus e-mail or the
college website.

sounds like.


*How to receive Text Alerts  *
Faculty, staff, and students:
You are automatically enrolled in SUNY NY ALERT with your campus assigned
email address. You may add additional methods or ways of being notified
during an emergency by logging into MyPlattsburgh (my.plattsburgh.edu) and
selecting "Update my NY Alert Contact Info," under NY ALERT at the left of
your screen. Please be sure to keep your information updated. Although this
service is important, it is voluntary and you may opt-out at any time.
