Dear Students,
First, welcome back to returning students! And, for students embarking on a
new journey here at SUNY Plattsburgh; welcome! We are very excited to have
you join our campus and Cardinal family. As we begin the fall semester, and
particularly during this pandemic, we want to remind you all of the
importance to comply with student conduct expectations. Our office is here
to help. Here is our mission statement:
"The Student Conduct Office will provide an educational and impartial
adjudication process for the College Community, address reported conduct
violations of students, student organizations, and intercollegiate athletic
teams, and will promote personal, ethical, and social development while
preserving the rights of all individuals involved."
The Office of Student Conduct ensures that all students are provided with
due process in compliance with the Student Conduct Manual. As such, I am
reminding you all to be familiar with this important document. ALL students
are bound by the contents of the Student Conduct Manual. ALL intercollegiate
athletic teams and ALL recognized clubs & organizations with student
membership are bound by the contents of the Group Conduct Manual.

Your conduct impacts others. Specifically, during this pandemic, the
decisions you make can affect the health and safety of others and have
serious consequences. The college is and will continue to use the Student
Conduct Manual to address all violations, including COVID-related
violations such as non-compliance with the social distancing and face
covering policy. We encourage any community member who witnesses someone
not abiding by the conduct manual and New York law, especially those
related to COVID-19, to call the University Police at 518-564-2022 or the
hotline at 518-564-5555.
Please be smart, take responsibility for your actions and be aware of the
impact you have on others. Feel free to contact me with any comments,
questions, or concerns.
All the best for a successful year!
Cardinal Pledge
I will wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash my hands, avoid large
social gatherings/parties, stay home when sick and inform the Health Center.
