[Important Information for Queensbury Campus Employees] Queensbury Campus Spring Commencement Conflict

Good morning,

Given the way SUNY Adirondack’s and SUNY Plattsburgh’s academic calendars
are aligned for the 2026–2027 academic year, both institutions are
scheduled to hold spring commencement on the same day—Saturday, May 15,
2027. This scheduling conflict presents a need to examine how we can best
celebrate our SUNY Plattsburgh graduates from both campuses, particularly
as our platform dignitaries and university leaders cannot be in two places
at once.

I have been in communication with our Provost and Plattsburgh leadership to
discuss options and a plan that appropriately recognizes and celebrates our
graduates at both locations. More information will be shared as plans are
finalized.

For now, I wanted to give you a heads-up that, due to this scheduling
conflict, we will likely need to pivot from our standard tradition and
approach this spring's celebrations differently.
