Dear Campus Community,

Vaccines will be delivered to students tomorrow in Memorial Hall, the first
day of age-eligibility for most students. We appreciate the assistance of
many staff, as well as Clinton and Essex County health departments and
Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, in making this happen.

We have obtained additional doses and added some later afternoon
appointments. Students must commit to receive both doses of Moderna on
campus. Out of state and international students should use their local
Plattsburgh address.

   - *Tuesday afternoon on campus appointments are available

   - *Appointments can also be booked at the state site near the airport or
county site at Clinton Community College. *Students, faculty and staff
can schedule appointments to receive one of three FDA-approved COVID-19
vaccines from the state or county. State (https://covid19vaccine.health.
   ny.gov/ <https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/>) and Clinton County (
   http://www.clintonhealth.org/covid19vaccine/
   <http://www.clintonhealth.org/covid19vaccine/>) web pages provide
   details.

The college clinic will provide the Moderna vaccine, and a second dose will
be administered four weeks later on Tuesday, May 4. We will share more
details on possible other campus distributions when they are available.

If appointments are full, please continue to check back as these are
refreshed and new times open due to changes, cancellations or additional
doses.

*COVID Cases and Test Results*
The college recorded 16 positive COVID-19 cases on Monday. Over the past 14
days, 102 total cases have been recorded, with 50 cases active and 52
recovered.

Based on public health guidance, 45 students and employees are in
quarantine -- 16 on-campus and 29 off-campus. We respect the privacy of
those in isolation and quarantine and will support them. If you are aware,
please also respect their privacy.

Our caseload remains below the state threshold that would prompt a pause in
on-campus classes and operations. This spring semester, the guidance from
the state is to pause when a campus' testing positivity rate is at 5
percent over a rolling 14-day period. Our current rate is 1.29 percent.

Reminder: SUNY Upstate Medical University is now reporting pooled test
results directly to students, faculty and staff via email when they are
completed. These will come to your registered email address. You will be
given a link to follow, log in, and see your result. It will be either
presumed negative or positive.

If your result is presumed negative, you need take no further action. If
your result is positive, you will be contacted by the Student Health and
Counseling Center or the Clinton County Health Department with further
details. If you get the notification email before being contacted, we ask
you to self-isolate and contact your health care professional or the health
center at 518-564-2187 or healthcenter at plattsburgh.edu.

We encourage you to take steps daily to ensure the safety for you and all
around you. Wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands, avoid
large social gatherings, and stay home when sick. More information is
online at plattsburgh.edu/COVID-19.
