[Important Information for Employees] The Death of Mr. Sherwood Hart Sr.

Dear Campus Community,

We have learned of the passing of a long-time, retired member of
Maintenance and Operations, Sherwood Hart Sr., who died Saturday, Oct. 25,
2025 at the age of 86.

Mr. Hart began his career at SUNY Plattsburgh in August 1967 as a
groundsman and was promoted in November 1975 to supervisor of grounds, a
position he held until his August 1994 retirement.

A Keeseville, N.Y., native, Mr. Hart was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having
served from 1959 to 1962.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the
United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown followed by a graveside service at
Lewis Cemetery at 1:30 p.m., where he will be interred with military honors.
