[Important Information for Employees] Alert - Another round of phishing scams - please read!

Good morning,

Unfortunately, late this morning we continue to see our campus targeted
with sophisticated phishing scams. The subject lines change, the URL links
in the emails change but the are all doing the same thing. They are taking
you to a fake login page that looks and feels like our regular campus login
page, but its not.

*We urge all campus users to pay attention the authentication page* and
MAKE sure you follow a simple 2 step process to verify you are logging into
the official campus authentication page.

*HOW DO YOU TELL YOU ARE LOGGING INTO RIGHT PAGE?*

1. Check the Page

Make sure you're on our official login page. It should look just like the
screenshot below.
2. Check the URL

The web address at the top of your browser should say:

https://cas.plattsburgh.edu

This means you're signing in through our official Central Authentication
System (CAS). If the address looks strange and does not start with
cas.plattsburgh.edu — close the tab immediately.


All it takes is one or two account compromises and then the bad actors use
the compromised accounts to rapidly propogate the phishing emails to all
campus users.

As we communicated yesterday and last evening, If you respond to one of
these phishing scams your accounts password will be reset and you will need
to use the password self reset process to reestablish access to your
account.
