Campus Community,

At 2:30 pm on Thursday, March 27th, University Police received a report
from a citizen of a naked male walking on a trail in Rugar Woods behind the
Field House. The male is described as a white male in his sixties,
approximately 6 feet tall, large build, with shoulder-length grey hair and
beard, wearing sneakers and socks, carrying his clothes.. Although the
male was non-threatening or lewd, we are providing this information out of
an abundance of caution.

University Police encourages everyone to take the following precautions
while walking in remote areas of campus:

   - *Be Aware of Your Surroundings:* Always stay alert, especially when
walking in secluded or wooded areas. Pay attention to your environment and
   trust your instincts.

   - *Walk with a Friend or Group:* Whenever possible, travel with others,
especially in less trafficked areas like Rugar Woods. Safety in numbers is
   always a good practice.

   - *Carry a Cell Phone:* Keep your phone accessible and fully charged,
and report any unusual or suspicious behavior to University Police at 518
   564 2022 or 911.

What to Do if You Encounter Similar Situations:

   1.

   Remain calm and avoid confrontation.
   2.

Do not approach the individual directly. If possible, move to a safer
area and call University Police immediately.
   3.

Provide a clear description of the individual and their behavior.

Please remain vigilant and proactive in keeping our campus safe.

Authority, Chief Patrick Rascoe
