Dear Campus Community,
I am writing to announce that Magen Renadette has been appointed Vice
President for Administration and Finance, effective Monday, January 6, 2025.
Magen brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served at SUNY
Plattsburgh for almost 8 years as Director of Budget and Financial
Reporting and as the interim Vice President for Administration and Finance
since April 2024. Magen holds a B.S. in Accounting from Siena College and a
Masters in Business Administration from Union Graduate College. Prior to
joining SUNY Plattsburgh, Magen was a senior auditor at KPMG, was employed
as a financial analyst at Union College and served as the CFO for Hospice
of the North Country. I am confident that Magen’s experience and leadership
will serve our institution well.
In this role, Magen will oversee several critical areas essential to the
operations of our university, including:
-
Budget and Financial Reporting Services
-
Capital Planning and Construction
-
Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations
-
Human Resource and Payroll Services
-
Internal Control and Risk Management
-
Procurement Services
-
Sponsored Research and Programs
In keeping with the expectations outlined in the SUNY Plattsburgh
University Senate by-laws, I consulted with Faculty Senate leadership prior
to making this decision. This consultation process, as well as discussions
with the Division of Administration and Finance leadership team members,
provided valuable insights that informed my decision to remove the interim
designation from Magen’s title.
Since assuming the interim VP position, Magen has demonstrated strong
leadership, sound judgment, and a commitment to advancing the priorities of
the Division of Administration and Finance. Her extensive experience and
focus on operational excellence have been instrumental during this period
of transition, ensuring that our resources and services align effectively
with the university’s goals.
As Vice President, Magen will continue to lead these areas with dedication
and vision, addressing opportunities and challenges while supporting the
success of our campus. Her leadership will play a pivotal role in ensuring
the university’s financial health, operational efficiency, and long-term
sustainability.
Please join me in congratulating Magen on this appointment and supporting
her as she undertakes this critical leadership role.
Sincerely,
Dr. Alexander Enyedi
President
