[Important Information for Employees] Help Us Celebrate Our Graduates – Commencement Volunteers Needed

Dear Campus Community,

Spring Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the Field
House gymnasium. With more students participating this year than we have
seen in several years, it promises to be a meaningful and celebratory
occasion for our entire campus.
Volunteers Still Urgently Needed

This year, we are celebrating more graduates than we have in recent years
(in upwards of 917), and each ceremony requires substantial support to
ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for students and their guests.
Below is an overview of anticipated graduate counts and volunteer needs for
each ceremony:

   -

   9:00 a.m. – School of Arts and Sciences
   Approximately 347 graduates confirmed
   10 volunteers still needed

   -

   12:00 p.m. – School of Business and Economics
   Approximately  195 graduates confirmed
   10  volunteers still needed

   -

   3:00 p.m. – School of Education, Health, and Human Services
   Approximately  375 graduates confirmed
   12  volunteers still needed


Although some individuals have already stepped forward, we remain
significantly short of the coverage needed, for all three ceremonies. Your
participation, even for a single ceremony, will make a meaningful
difference in creating a positive and memorable experience for our students
and their families. (And, if you volunteer for the 12 and the 3 OR the for
all three, you’ll receive a free lunch!)

Volunteering is a powerful way to show support for our students as they
mark one of the most important milestones of their lives. Whether you can
assist for one ceremony or the entire day, your presence is valued and
appreciated.

If you are able to volunteer, please email grangecg at plattsburgh.edu as soon
as possible. We must finalize our volunteer list in the coming days.
Faculty and Staff Participation

Teaching faculty and professional staff are welcome to attend in academic
regalia. Tickets are not required. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior
to the ceremony you plan to attend.
