[Important Information for Employees] Honoring Veterans Day at SUNY Plattsburgh

Dear Campus Community,

As we observe Veterans Day it is an opportunity to recognize and honor the
service of all military veterans—both those who have served in the past and
those who continue to serve today. Their courage, dedication, and
sacrifices have been vital in protecting the freedoms and values we all
enjoy.

At SUNY Plattsburgh, we are proud and honored to have 42 student veterans
and 20 employee veterans who bring their unique experiences and
perspectives to our campus. We are also grateful to the many alumni who
have served and continue to serve in the military, contributing to the
legacy of leadership and service that is integral to our community. Their
contributions strengthen our community in countless ways, both in and
outside of the classroom and workplace. Today, we thank them for their
service to our country, and for the ongoing impact they have on our
university.

In addition, we extend our gratitude to the families of our veterans, who
have provided critical support throughout their service. We know the
sacrifices made by those who serve are shared by their loved ones, and we
are thankful for the strength and resilience of these families.

To our veterans and military-connected members—whether you are still
serving or have served in the past: thank you. Your service and leadership
continue to shape our campus and enrich our community, and we are proud to
have you as part of our SUNY Plattsburgh family.

As we honor you today, let us also reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that
all veterans and military-affiliated individuals feel supported and valued
here. We are here to stand with you, and we are better as a campus because
of your presence.
