Dear campus community,

SUNY Plattsburgh is set to host a critical First Responder Mass Casualty
Training Exercise on *Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, from 7:00 AM to noon at the
Plattsburgh Field House and UVM Health Network at CVPH. *This exercise aims
to enhance the readiness and coordination of area emergency response
agencies in the face of a potential mass casualty incident.

During the training exercise, the Field House property will be closed to
the public for the safe execution of emergency response protocols. Visitors
and bystanders are advised to avoid the Field House during the specified
time frame since there will be a significant presence of emergency vehicles
and personnel engaged in simulated emergency scenarios.

Throughout the exercise, participating first responders will operate on
designated emergency radio frequencies to simulate real-world communication
procedures during crisis situations.

It is important to emphasize that this event is solely a training exercise
and not a response to any actual emergency. SUNY Plattsburgh remains
committed to ensuring the safety and preparedness of its community and the
broader region in collaboration with local, state, and federal emergency
response partners.

Agencies involved include:

   - SUNY Plattsburgh Office of Emergency Management
   - NYS University Police
