Dear Campus Community,

The Monday, April 8, 2024 solar
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/plattslife/eclipse-2024/index.html>eclipse
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/plattslife/eclipse-2024/index.html>
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/plattslife/eclipse-2024/index.html>is a
once-in-a-lifetime celestial event for SUNY Plattsburgh and our surrounding
community. The university recognizes that faculty, staff, and students will
likely want to view the eclipse that afternoon. While there will be no
formal suspension of operations on April 8, employees may leave their work
stations to view the eclipse from 2pm - 4pm without charging leave credits.
Additionally, faculty who are teaching during that same timeframe may
choose to incorporate viewing the eclipse into a teaching/learning
opportunity. Students are required to attend all regularly scheduled
classes in their assigned locations unless otherwise specified by their
instructors to meet at an alternate location to view the eclipse.

Thank you.
