Over the past 8 months, a collaborative effort involving the Accessibility
Resources Office, Feinberg Library, ITS, TEL, and the M & O departments has
been underway. This joint project aims to enhance campus accessibility for
all students, made possible by SUNY's commitment to supporting students
with disabilities across its campuses.

In September 2023, our campus received funding for this initiative,
significantly bolstering our capacity to address students' access needs.
This ongoing funding enabled the Accessibility Resources Office to relocate
to a more spacious area on the first floor of the Feinberg Library,
adjacent to the ITS Help Desk. This new location provides expanded group
and individual testing spaces, accommodates additional support staff, and
is conveniently situated alongside other vital student support services.

Moreover, the funding facilitated the recruitment of essential personnel
including an Instructional Designer, Assistant Director of ARO, Assistive
Technology Specialist, Access Specialist, Access Coach, mentors, proctors,
and student ambassadors.

A pivotal addition to the ARO office is the Access Lab, equipped with
assistive technology and updated software to ensure an inclusive learning
environment. The former ITS Lab has been relocated and restructured in
Feinberg 112 to better cater to the evolving needs of our students.
Furthermore, additional general use computers have been distributed across
the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library for student convenience.

The realization of these enhancements was made possible through close
collaboration among ARO, ITS, M&O, and the Library. Construction commenced
in December 2023 and is nearly complete, with the final completion before
the start of the Fall 2024 semester.

These transformations provide a more centralized approach to accessing
support services, facilitating ease of use for students and aligns with the
Plattsburgh Next "Strengthen Student Success" pillar. We invite you to

comprehensive support services.
