Dear Campus Communities,
Mapping potential usage and space needs for the planned relocation of the
Clinton Community College campus to SUNY Plattsburgh has been the focus of
the most recent work.
Rickes Associates <https://rickesassociates.com/> has gathered data, toured
both campuses and provided insights that will ultimately assist both
campuses. We will know more about findings over the next couple weeks,
information that will inform many of the next steps.
Regular updates and the flow of all work over the past two-plus months is
online here

*Building Community Listening Sessions*
A reminder that the joint coordinating committee
<https://www.clinton.edu/college-relocation/Joint_Coordinating_Committee.aspx>
working
on the planned relocation invites you to special listening sessions on
Tuesday, Apr. 23 at 3:30 p.m. and/or Monday, Apr. 29 at noon.
Zoom links for the sessions are:
- Tuesday, Apr. 23 at 3:30 p.m. |
https://plattsburgh.zoom.us/j/98595200319
- Monday, Apr. 29 at noon | https://plattsburgh.zoom.us/j/91595946072
The sessions are designed to foster a common conversation across campuses
to envision what a shared community between our two institutions could look
like. It is also designed to provide space for our communities to explore
concerns and opportunities within this collaboration and to inform the
joint coordinating committee of those ideas.
Questions to be considered during the one-hour session are:
- What concerns do you have about building a community between Clinton
Community College and SUNY Plattsburgh?
- What opportunities do you see could be present in a new joint
community?
- What ideas do you have for bringing these two communities together and
building a collaborative community between them?
To facilitate a frank and constructive dialogue, the sessions will hold to
the following guidelines:
- Be Authentic: Participation is voluntary, sharing is always by
invitation and never forced or mandatory.
- Be Fully Present: Focus and engage completely in the experience,
mindful of the shared space we build together.
- Be Kind and Compassionate: Listen deeply and share authentically,
acknowledging the influence and benefit of our diversity.
- Suspend Judgment: We are not here to fix or judge others. Seek to
understand differing ideas, inviting self-expression and personal
reflection from others.
- Embrace Belongingness: Allow the lived-experiences and opinions of
others to be informative and transformative.
- Respect Silence: Accept participation through silence, honoring
feelings of self-protection, pauses for reflection, and the enabling of
others to be heard.
We hope you are able to join us for one of these sessions.
Best, kk
