[Important Information for Employees] Announcing new Title IX Coordinator, Kim Irland

Dear Campus Community,


I am delighted to announce that Kim Irland has joined SUNY Plattsburgh as
the new Title IX Coordinator. Kim brings 18 years of experience in higher
education, where she has worked in various capacities including residence
life, student activities, student conduct, DEI, and Title IX.


Most recently, Kim has served as the Associate Vice President of Student
Affairs, Chief Diversity Officer, and Title IX Coordinator at North Country
Community College. Her wealth of knowledge and experience makes her an
excellent addition to our community, and we are thrilled to welcome her.


Kim is a proud graduate of the SUNY System, having attended SUNY Oswego as
an undergraduate and Binghamton University as a graduate student. She has
also contributed to education by teaching classes in the social sciences
through various modalities, including correctional facilities, online,
hybrid, and in-person.


Kim will be working with us on a part time basis through December 2023, and
will transition into the full time role in January 2024. Her expertise and
dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of our
campus community.


To provide an opportunity for our community to meet Kim, and for campus to
learn more about Title IX, TRHT, and the DEI office, we will host a
meet-and-greet event on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 12 to 1 pm in the
HUB in Angell College Center. We encourage all students and employees to
attend. Light refreshments will be served.


I would also like to express gratitude to the members of the search
committee who dedicated their time and efforts to finding the best
candidate for this important role. Their commitment to this process has
