SENT ON BEHALF OF HUMAN RESOURCE SERVICES

SUNY has announced that the pilot Telecommuting Program
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/_documents/human-resources/sunywide-telecommuting-program-08022021.pdf>
that was set to expire on June 30, 2022 has been extended through August
31, 2022 for all employees. As a residential campus focused on supporting
our students, this program was not an option for many positions during the
academic year. However, this program may be feasible for additional areas
during the summer break. The exact dates allowed will vary by department.

Under the Telecommuting Program, employees will be expected to have a
regular in-person presence at the official work location. Employees should
not expect to be approved to telecommute on a full-time or near full-time
basis. The number of days and which days an individual employee may be
allowed to telecommute is determined by management based on operational
need. However, the maximum allowable days per pay period that may be
approved for telecommuting is five (5) workdays and in no event will an
employee telecommute for their full obligation.

To request to participate, interested employees must submit a
completed  Telecommuting
Application and Work Plan
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/_documents/human-resources/suny-telecommuting-application-and-workplan-fillable.pdf>
to their immediate supervisor. Final approval rests with the Vice
President.

All currently approved Telecommuting plans have an expiration date of June
30, 2022. Although the program has been extended, an approved renewal
application is required for anyone to participate in this program beyond
June 30th.
