Dear Campus Community,
Gov. Kathy Hochul has named Michael Cashman to the SUNY Plattsburgh College
Council. The appointment is effective immediately and the term is to June
30, 2024.
Michael is well known to many of you. Currently the Town of Plattsburgh
supervisor, Michael earned his bachelor's (2003) and master's (2006)
degrees here. He served as a grad assistant and coordinator of the Cardinal
Connections program, then as assistant director of alumni affairs for
student/alumni programs, coordinator of student activities and later led
Project HELP and the Center for Student Involvement.
He is also a 2015 recipient of the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in
Professional Service.
He is a strong advocate for the college and I look forward to his joining
the council at the Sept. 12 meeting. I have already reached out to Michael
welcoming him to the Council. We will benefit from his perspective and
Cardinal passion in the years to come.
