[Important Information for Employees] COVID-19 Vaccine & Spring Return Updates

Dear Students, Faculty & Staff,



I hope that your winter break has been safe and healthy. As we look to
start the spring semester, I am writing to you with a few important
COVID-19 vaccine updates.



●       Information on the distribution plan, eligibility requirements and
vaccination locations can be found

<https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/what-you-need-know>. Please
familiarize yourself and stay up to date with the NYS Vaccine Program, as
eligibility for participation in the program is evolving.  As of today, we
are in Phase 1B of the program, which includes in-person faculty
instructors and University Police. We will share further information as it
becomes available.



●       Both currently available COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) do
not provide immunity protection until two weeks after the *second*
vaccination. A minimum of a four-week wait is required between the first
and second Moderna vaccine administration. A minimum three-week wait
between the first and second Pfizer vaccine administration is required.
Therefore, it is essential that vaccinated individuals continue practicing
all precautions such as wearing a mask, social distancing, handwashing and
other hygiene measures. Adhering to the Cardinal Pledge continues to be
essential.

Center.*



Additional details related to the spring semester COVID-19 pooled testing
program, health screening requirements, move-in information and more are
