[Important Information for Employees] Campus Announcement from President Enyedi

Dear Campus,

Effective January 01, 2022, after nearly fifteen years in academic
leadership, Holly Heller-Ross will be leaving her position as Dean of
Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) and CIO, and returning
to her concurrent Library Faculty academic appointment.  She will begin the
spring 2022 semester with an approved sabbatical before making this
transition. Her sabbatical project is focused on launching a new SUNY Women
in Technology (WIT) organization, to continue the work of the CCIO WIT
committee, which includes a statewide Founders group of Library Directors,
CIO's, and SUNY Central Administrators. She will also be working with Dr.
Bill Pfaff on an honors course proposal combining information research and
music. The college thanks Dean Heller-Ross for her many contributions to
college strategic goals through the years, and looks forward to her return
to the Librarian role.

At the same time, the college will be re-organizing LITS into two
independent (yet still very interdependent!) organizations, the Library and
Information Technology (ITS), both of which will  report through Academic
Affairs to the Provost, Dr. Anne Herzog.

Terrence (T.J.) Myers, the current LITS Assistant CIO, has been appointed
Director of ITS and Elin O'Hara-Gonya, the current Assistant Library
Director, has been appointed Director of the Feinberg Library. These very
talented and respected internal associates will ensure organizational
stability and continued innovative leadership.  Both T.J. and Elin. are
experienced administrators, SUNY Chancellor's Award winners, have a proven
track record of success in their fields, and have served on the
LITS Coordinators Council for many years. The college appreciates their
willingness to take on these roles during what is still a very challenging
enrollment, covid-safety, and fiscally constrained time for our college.

Provost Herzog shared the following remarks on Dean Heller-Ross' years of
service as a Dean: "I am grateful for the 17 months that Holly has been a
member of my academic leadership team.  She has done an exceptional job
leading two critical areas of the college--our Feinberg Library and
Information Technology Services.  It is rare to have someone so skilled
that they can understand deeply the challenges of and needs of these two
very different areas.  We will miss her on our team, but are excited to see
what she will accomplish with her Women in Technology project.  We are also
very pleased to have both Elin and TJ willing to embrace their new
leadership roles."
