To the Campus Community:

We are upgrading our electronic door locks on campus. The new locks
function a bit differently, so please be aware of the details noted below.

*Times:*

   - *General classroom doors* are unlocked 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday-Friday
when classes are in session. During breaks (winter, spring, summer),
   these doors will be unlocked 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
   - *All computer classrooms and specialized teaching spaces *will not be
unlocked. You will need your SUNY ID to access the room.

*Access:*

   - You have access to a classroom based on your class schedule through
Banner. That is the only time you will be able to access a classroom; there
   is no on-demand access.
   - For one-time scheduling, go to:
      - 1) booking.plattsburgh.edu
      - 2) Go to My ReservationTemplates.
      - 3) Select Registrar Classroom Request. Enter the information for
your one-time reservation. Once the Registrar's Office approves use of
space, your ID card will be automatically granted access to the space *30
      minutes prior *to your event.
   - *To unlock a door, *place your SUNY ID card on the wireless emblem on
the lock until you hear a clicking sound and the reader flashes
green. This step
is only necessary outside of the regularly scheduled open access. If you
place your card on the lock and you do not get any lights or sound, make
sure your ID card is on the wireless emblem near the bottom of the reader.
If you get a red light and a beep, the door is probably unlocked. Just turn
the handle to enter the room.
   - NOTE: T*he first time you access a new lock,* the lock will download
your credentials, making for an extra step. Simply place your ID card on
the lock wireless emblem. Remove it. *Wait @45 seconds *and then place
   it on the emblem again.

*Shelter in Place:*
There is a "shelter-in-place" button on the back of the lock. Please do not
push the button unless you need to shelter in place, as this will lock
everyone else out. University Police will then need to open the door. Once
the event is over, just turn the handle from the inside of the room and it
will open the door and remove the shelter-in-place feature.

*Building contacts for emergencies:*
Staff with access to open a room on an "emergency basis only" include:

   - Sibley - Jennifer Clancy
   - Redcay - Leanne Macey
   - Hawkins - Nicholle Jarvis, Ann Labier
   - Ausable - Kristie Stanton, Michelle Pelkey, Jamie McClatchie
   - Hudson - Natalie Campbell, Janet Manor
   - MFA - Kimberly Hall-Stone, Jennifer Matott
   - CVH - Lauren Waldron
   - Ward - Randi Trombly
