Dear Campus Community,

The college recorded one new COVID-19 case on Tuesday. The student was in
quarantine when tested and is now isolating.

Over the past 14 days, 32 total cases have been recorded. Additionally, one
student is in precautionary isolation having tested negative with a rapid
test but awaiting back-up PCR test results.

By direction of the county health department, 130 students (63 on-campus
and 67 off-campus) and seven employees are in mandatory or precautionary
quarantine. This includes participants in the pool examined by SUNY Upstate
Medical University who were retested due to initial results that were weak
and indeterminate.

Those in isolation and quarantine are being released as they recover and
risk times expire.

Decisions by the health department for quarantine are based on an
assessment of potential exposure to help prevent possible viral spread. We
respect the privacy of students in isolation and quarantine and will
support them. If you are aware, please also respect their privacy.

Pooled surveillance testing continues today. In addition to this tool, a
focus on prevention and the Cardinal Pledge are keys to our success. The
daily health screening form and *the New York State COVID-19 app*
<https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-alert-ny> are also important
tools.

We continue to work with multiple public health officials and partners who
are supportive of our approaches.

Dr. Alexander Enyedi
President
