Dear Campus Community,

Four additional students have tested positive for COVID-19. The cases are
all linked to the one reported Monday. The additional off- and on-campus
students are each following prescribed health and safety protocols.

The six total we have reported this week brings to eight the number of
campus community-related cases since mid-August.

We respect the privacy of individuals and will support them. If you are
aware, please also respect their privacy.

These positive cases are unsettling but not unexpected.

Our isolation, quarantine and other approaches in the fall restart plan
contemplate positive cases and were created for active case finding such as
this. Our aim is to pursue, identify and contain cases quickly. The county
health department is engaged in further contact tracing as well.

As we approach the final five weeks on campus, please continue to follow
health and safety protocols such as face coverings and social distancing.
Also be sure to answer and submit the daily online health screening.

The number of cases in Clinton County and surrounding areas have risen this
month. Continued vigilance is important.

Pooled surveillance testing for COVID-19 continued today with about 1,000
students tested. We expect those results from SUNY Upstate Medical
University by Friday or Saturday. We have done more than 4,000 tests since
the start of the semester.
