Dear Plattsburgh Students and Faculty,

This email is intended as a reminder of the key dates and processes for
choosing Pass/Fail in a single course this semester, withdrawal from
individual courses, and withdrawal from the college.

As you will recall from my earlier communication, students may opt for
pass/fail grading for one course (not including major requirements or
cognate courses, ENG101 or graduate courses). Beginning on *Thursday,
November 18, 2020* *at 8 am, and continuing until midnight on Thursday,
December 17, 2020*, students may logon to the MyPlattsburgh portal to
access the *Pass/Fail Grade Option Form*, located both on the Home tab in
the *Campus Announcements* section and on the Students tab in the
*Registrar* section. Students are highly encouraged to consult with their
advisors in making this decision and also to consider carefully the

to help support this decision making.

Faculty will submit grades as usual. After the December 17 deadline, the
grade mode cannot be changed in subsequent semesters. If no selection is
made by the student, the grade assigned by the instructor will be used.

The COVID-19 Grade Advisement Guide
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/19yWUviLNlPa0uhZdd5Y2BDpVq0OU9rSFCWHt2wO6hVA/edit?usp=sharing>
provides detailed instructions on either of these choices. The deadline
for both is *Friday, December 11, 2020*. Students: please know that we
want to help support you in decision making that helps you achieve your
ultimate goal of a college degree, so please reach out for guidance, as
needed.

For questions about these processes, students should contact their academic
advisor, department chairperson, dean’s office, or the office of the provost

(provost-office at plattsburgh.edu).

Sincerely,

Dr. Anne Herzog

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
