Good day!

The fall 2022 semester is fast approaching. As you prepare for the start of
classes, please keep the following in mind:

   -

   All classroom capacities have been returned to pre-COVID numbers. As
   previously shared, we are now mask optional for all indoor spaces,
   including classrooms.
   -

   Each course has been designed to help students reach certain learning
   outcomes that are specified on the Model Course Outline (MCO). Copies of
   MCOs are available in the Course and Program Outlines
   <https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BlXxq4qkL1KmAetl8o0a9pkvldG0MMzB?usp=sharing>
   folder on the Academic Affairs shared drive.
   -

   The course outcomes from the MCO must be listed on the syllabus as
   should the Academic Honesty and Student Accomodations statements, in
   accordance with the Syllabi Policy
   <https://www.plattsburgh.edu/about/offices-divisions/academic-affairs/provost/policies-and-procedures/syllabirequirements.html>.
   Syllabi should be welcoming and clear and must be available to students
   within the first week of class.
   -

   Cardinal Star
   <https://plattsburgh.starfishsolutions.com/starfish-ops/session/casLogin.html>
   is a valuable tool to help promote student success. The Flags and Kudos
   that you raise should encourage students to seek resources and focus on a
   growth mindset. Self-enroll in the Cardinal Star Moodle Resource Site
   <https://moodle.plattsburgh.edu/course/view.php?id=17196> for help or
   email CardinalStar at plattsburgh.edu with questions.
   -

   Students who are unable to attend classes during observance of religious
   holidays are protected by New York State Education Law Section 224-a and
   must be excused. While students remain responsible for course material,
   assignments, and examinations, no penalty may be applied due to the
   absence. Further details are available in the Undergraduate/Graduate
   Catalog
   <https://catalog.plattsburgh.edu/content.php?catoid=13&navoid=1680#education-law-absence-due-to-religious-beliefs>.
   Major class activities should be scheduled around common religious
   observances <https://www.diversityresources.com/2022-diversity-calendar/>,
   while individual religious observances may need additional accommodation.

Fall marks the second year of our Cardinal Core Curriculum
