[Academic-Affairs] Opening Week Faculty 2022

Hello Colleagues,

The fall semester is close upon us. Here’s a quick rundown of upcoming
events for Opening.

*Friday, August 26, 2022*

   -

   *President's Welcome* - Coffee at 8 am, the program begins at 8:30 am,
   in the Warren Ballrooms.
   -

   *School Meetings*
   -

      Arts and Sciences - 10:15 am, Yokum 200.
      -

      Business and Economics - 11 am, AuSable Hall
      -

      Education, Health and Human Services - 1 pm - 3 pm, Sibley 545
      -

   *Matriculation Ceremony* - 4 pm - 5 pm, Memorial Gym (note the change of
   venue). Please join us in welcoming our new students! Deans and
   chairpersons should wear regalia; all other faculty and staff are asked to
   wear Cardinal red. Meet just inside the Memorial front entrance at 3:45 pm.
   -

   *Wine Reception* - 5 pm - 6 pm, Memorial Rec Gym. End the day with a
   reception right after the Matriculation Ceremony. Meet new faculty and
   staff and reconnect to  colleagues/friends as we prepare to start the fall
   semester.


*Sunday, August 28, 2022*

   -

   *Department Welcome for New Students* - Sunday, August 28, 11 am - 12
   pm. Welcome the newest members of our Plattsburgh community. This event
   could include faculty members, current students, and anyone else who is
   connected with your department. Meet students at the following locations:
   -

      Arts and Sciences - Hawkins Pond on the Hawkins Hall side
      -

      EHHS - Sibley Hall
      -

      SBE - AuSable Hall
      -

      Undeclared & Unsure majors - Angell College Center lobby
      -

   *Academic Buildings Open* - Sunday August 28, 1 pm - 3 pm. Students can
   "walk their schedule" and get a general feel for the buildings. Steve
   Matthews has been recruiting volunteers to staff buildings; please contact
   him if you’d like to help matthesp at plattsburgh.edu.  Or, if you have
   some extra time, stop by an academic building and welcome our new students
   and help them to acclimate to classroom/department locations.
