From provost-office at plattsburgh.edu Fri Sep 5 16:31:35 2025 From: provost-office at plattsburgh.edu (Office of the Provost/SVPAA) Date: Fri, 5 Sep 2025 12:31:35 -0400 Subject: [Teaching-Faculty] Call for Sabbatical Leave Applications for 2026-2027 Message-ID: Good afternoon colleagues, I am pleased to be reaching out to you today with my first communication. I have met many people already in my first week, but there are many more of you I have not met yet. I am Marcus Marenda, newly hired into the role of Associate for Academic Budgets & Resources (formerly called Assistant to the Provost). The Office of the Provost invites those eligible to apply for Sabbatical Leave for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic calendar. To learn more about eligibility and the application process, please review the Sabbatical Leave Information page. If you would like to apply for a sabbatical for next academic year, please email me at mmare006 at plattsburgh.edu and I will add you to the application process in Watermark. Completed applications are due by Friday, October 10, 2025. Please remember that sabbatical awards are highly competitive, and only a limited number can be given in any one year. Sabbatical awards are available in three forms: half-year at full-pay; half-year at half-pay; and full-year at half-pay; The number of sabbatical awards will be limited by the funding available and the quality of the applications. In some cases, if a faculty member is not approved for a half-year full-pay sabbatical, they may be offered the opportunity to take the sabbatical at half-year half-pay. In each case, sabbatical awards cannot adversely affect the teaching/learning environment for students or other reasonable academic services provided by the university.
