Dear Faculty,

The Campus Store & Textbooks
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/bookstore/index.html> provides an important
service for our students. It is the only place that students can use their
scholarship money, financial aid, or campus emergency funds to purchase
textbooks or course materials. If materials are not available through the
bookstore, it can prevent students from obtaining the resources they need.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (federal law since July 1, 2010)
requires us to provide the bookstore with information about required and
recommended textbooks, and supplemental material that will be used in each
class. We also must provide students with the ISBN and retail price of the
materials for each class in connection with the course schedule. Even if no
textbook is required, we must tell the bookstore this, so that accurate
information is readily available to the student. Ideally this information
should be sent to the bookstore when the course is added to the schedule
for the upcoming semester.

Details related to the campus responsibility in this area can be found in
the Textbook Information HEOA Policy
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/about/offices-divisions/administration-finance/policies-procedures/campus-handbook/section-i-academics-research/textbook-information-heoa-policy.html>.
To remain in compliance, all instructors must provide the Campus Store with
their textbook and material orders (even if 'none'), including access codes
and courseware. You may also provide students with alternative places to
obtain the materials, but you must still register your adoptions with the
bookstore. Sending your adoptions is easy using any of the following
methods:

   1.

   Email textbooks at plattsburgh.edu
   2.

   Call 518-564-4460

Thank you for your assistance in providing a seamless, affordable and
helpful service to our students. We ask that you submit adoptions for the
fall semester by the end of March. Please reach out with any questions.
Thank you!
