Please take a few minutes to nominate some of your colleagues to serve on
the *External Review Panel*

 beginning fall 2025.

Peer Review Groups with an external reviewer are a critical component of
the academic review process. Faculty participation is vital to the process
and, more importantly, to the success of your colleagues.

It is the responsibility of the Provost’s Office to solicit nominations and
conduct elections annually for the External Review Panel (ERP) and the
Promotion Review Board (PRB). On behalf of me, President Enyedi, UUP
Chapter President Michelle Toth and UUP VP for Academics Shawna Mefferd
Kelty, I urge you to step up and serve in these critically important roles.

The External Review Panel provides external reviewers to serve on
departmental Peer Review Groups. All academic employees holding a
continuing appointment, are at the rank of Associate Professor, Associate
Librarian or higher, and are not a department chair, center director or
academic supervisor are eligible for election. ERP members serve for two

The Promotion Review Board is the university-wide peer review body for
promotion to Professor, Librarian, and Distinguished Professor/Librarian
ranks. All who serve on this board must hold a continuing appointment at
the rank of Professor, Librarian or higher and are not a department chair,
center director or academic supervisor. PRB members serve for three years.
