Dear faculty,

As you finish preparations for the upcoming semester, please strongly
consider adopting this updated *Title IX Syllabus Statement **verbatim* to
ensure compliance and consistency in messaging. You can also consider
including this statement somewhere in your Brightspace Course shell as an
extra point of emphasis for students to better understand how Title IX
protects access to their education program and activities. The new *Title
IX Grievance Policy under 2024 Regulations* was effective August 1, 2024
and is live on our website. You can review this policy in the Campus
Handbook here
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/about/offices-divisions/administration-finance/policies-procedures/campus-handbook/section-ii-affirmative-action-equal-opportunity/grievance-addressing-formal-complaints-titleix-2024.html>
. More information about Title IX training, information sessions and
resources will be forthcoming throughout this month.

Questions about this may be directed to me, Kim Irland, at
kirla001 at plattsburgh.edu.

faculty and staff. The Title IX Coordinator can coordinate specific actions
to address and respond to sex discrimination and ensure students’ equal
access to their education program or activity, including: (1) protections
during pregnancy, related conditions and parenting

(2) a grievance process for addressing complaints

sex-based harassment and sex-based discrimination, including behaviors that
constitute sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and stalking. All
employees, including faculty, have the responsibility to notify the Title
IX Coordinator when they have information about conduct that may reasonably
constitute sex discrimination under Title IX. Students may also contact the
Title IX Coordinator directly to make a complaint of sex discrimination. Know
