Good morning, I wanted to share with you an email that was sent to your
student this morning regarding a traffic accident that occurred last
evening involving one of our students. I don't have any details beyond
what is shared in the email but thought you'd want to know in case your
student is impacted. Please know we are all here for your students if they
need support and we are doing all we can for the family of the impacted
student as well.

With many students travelling for Spring Break, some of them home, this is
a good opportunity for you to connect with them to see how their Spring
Semester is going. Housing Selection for returning students and
Registration for returning students will happen quickly upon their return
as will their mid-terms. This can prove to be a very busy and stressful
time for them and they may be asking you for your thoughts and support.

For those students graduating in the Spring, their thoughts are beginning
to move to their next chapter in life. Talk with them, listen to them and
help them make decisions that will make them happy as they begin this new
journey. They will be excited, nervous, scared, proud, etc. I would have
described my 2 oldest who recently graduate as a bundle of emotions at this
point of their final semester. Help them manage those emotions to finish
their college career strong. Please reach out if you think there are
things folks here on campus can do to help support them as well.

All the best.

Update on Student Injured in Motor Vehicle Accident

Dear Campus Community,

Last night, a SUNY Plattsburgh student was struck by a car while crossing
Broad Street in the area of the Newman Center crosswalk. University Police
responded to the accident, and they are continuing to assist the
Plattsburgh Police Department with the investigation.

The student was initially brought to CVPH Medical Center, and has since
been transferred to UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT for additional
care.

At this time, we have been in contact with the student's mother and are
providing whatever support possible.

Additionally, various departments on campus are currently reaching out to
students connected to the young woman involved, to provide resources and
support.

Because this impacts all of campus, please know that help is also available
for all students and employees. Students are encouraged to contact the
Health and Counseling Center at 518-564-3086 / healthcenter at plattsburgh.edu.
Students are also reminded that the Student Assistance Program (SAP)
provides free, 24/7 telehealth counseling by texting or calling
1-800-327-2251 and/or by going online to portal.BHSonline.com
<http://portal.bhsonline.com>and inputting username: SUNYPlattsburgh

Additionally, employees are encouraged to contact Kim McCoy Coleman,
Employee Assistance Program Coordinator located in 401A Beaumont Hall, at
eap at plattsburgh.edu for support and for additional referrals to community
resources and services.

We ask that you please keep our fellow Cardinal in your thoughts as we all
hope for her full healing and recovery.

Sincerely,

Dr. Alexander Enyedi

President
