Student Lunch featuring...
*Dr. Eric Sandvol*, University at Buffalo, Department of Earth Sciences
Dr. Sandvol is a geologist at the University at Buffalo specializing in solid
earth geophysics with a particular emphasis on regional-scale seismology.
He is interested in the structure of the shallow and deep earth and in the
physical processes that drive plate tectonics. In order to understand the
different stages and driving forces of continent-continent collision, he
has studied the collision of continental plates in eastern Turkey (early
stage) and Tibet (later stage) using a wide range of tomographic and earth
imaging techniques to reveal deep into the earth's subsurface. Come learn all
about Dr. Sandvol’s exciting research program!
*Open to all students*
*Friday, January 30, **12:00 Hudson 155*
