Tuesday Talks presents John Little, Assistant Professor of Communication
Studies at SUNY Plattsburgh, speaking on "The Geometry of Belief:
Diagnosing the Sociophysical Origins of Science Censorship and Repairing
the Metric of Truth" on *Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 5pm* in the Angell
College Center's Cardinal Lounge. Below is an abstract of John's
presentation.

"What if the 'War on Science' isn't just political, but a
structural inevitability of geometry? Born from a personal confrontation
with federal censorship in science communication, this presentation
abandons poetic metaphor for rigorous mathematical modeling. We will apply
Social Fluid Dynamics and Green's Theorem to map the kinetics of
polarization, illustrating how information flows, and fails, within an
electorate.

The journey culminates in Social General Relativity: a framework positing
that radicalized voters are not ignorant but trapped in a 'Hyperreal
Geodesic.' Just as a star warps space-time, authoritarianism warps the
social metric, making the rejection of objective fact a topological
necessity. Join me to diagnose the physics of this collapse and discover
how we can repair the flat, neutral space required for truth to survive."
