Hello Broadcast Journalism and TV/Video Majors: There is a great
opportunity for a paid internship this summer as part of the Institute for

*Job Description:*
Office/Location: Various newsrooms in NYS

*Job Summary (Function and Scope): *
Work in local news as a reporter, photographer, videographer, social media
or digital production staffer. This program offers qualified students a
fully paid summer experience. Interns will also have option to pick desired
newsroom or location.

*Job Duties:*

   - Write news stories
   - Work in a team atmosphere
   - Engage community leaders and individuals in news stories
   - Develop own assignments based on awareness of local events
   - Work fast and accurately on a deadline

*Required Education/Qualifications:*
Applying students must show previous experience in campus or local news to
qualify.
Applying students must be from a SUNY school that was a member of SUNY
Institute for Local News.
Pay Rate: $18.00 an hour

*Application Instructions:*
Applicants interested in applying MUST complete the following:
1. On the application, list at least two references that can speak to your
new-media ability

2. Submit Cover Letter
3. Submit Reporting Examples: provide three reporting examples that have
been published in campus or community media. Classroom-only stories cannot
